We are in a rural part of Northeast Maine so the electricity will blink on/off - and that is the noise you hear (appliances, tv sound bars, etc)
The fridge is super sensitive so just press RESET water filter and it should stop the beeping.

Looks like candyland! Yes, from June to September you will see the colorful markers that the lobster fishing crews use to find their lobster traps.
And yes, they start their day early! We provide ear plugs if you would like to get some more sleep - the sun rises early and lobster boats are busy.

NO! Please DO NOT allow any food down the drains...plumbers are hard to schedule and it will mess up the septic system.
We have food catchers (leave them in the sink at all times) and a food compost bucket. It is best to turn the sink off and dump the food catcher in the trash.

Do NOT turn these on -- it is HEAT! We do not have A/C in the main house -- only in the sunroom.
To cool things off, use the ceiling fans, portable fans, and open the windows (front/back) to get the cross wind breeze.

We do! It is on the side of the house near the wood pile. Feel free to roll it down by the fire pit area.
It is a propane Weber Grill.
We do not provide propane (insurance policy prohibits us from keeping on site).
But Moosabec Variety (about 2 miles away) or Stewarts takeout or Hamilton Marine (all on Main Street) have propane for you to use and enjoy a cook out!
You can dump the coals in the ocean.

The refridgerator has water underneath in the Guest House - is there a leak?
No not a leak but the freezer can sometimes get frozen water built up if not shut completely or filled too high. We have towels under the tv for you to use.

The green dumster in front of the Guest House is for Sea Duck Cottage.
They pick up every other Tuesday.
Please make sure garbage is tightly closed...or you will see trash all over (raccoons 🫤)
Other useful tips:
Try not to leave fruit out -- fruit flys can be a nuisance. If you do see fruit flys put some apple cider vinegar in a small bowl.
It is warm on the 2nd floor or bedrooms --- MAKE SURE the google nest if OFF (that is ONLY HEAT and will heat the house up quick). Open windows (with screens on them) and turn on fans (counter clockwise direction for ceiling fans) -- it does cool off at night. But we see the google nest turned on so many times..and it does heat the place up!
Another reminder to use the food catchers in the sinks. We are on a septic system so no food can go down the drain, only liquid. Only septic safe toilet paper. Thank you!
